Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups 420g all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup 180ml warm milk
  • 1/4 cup 60ml warm water
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • Optional: Sesame or poppy seeds for topping

Instructions

  • Combine warm milk, water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit until frothy.
  • Mix flour, salt, yeast mixture, egg, and butter. Knead until smooth.
  • Let dough rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  • Divide into 8 pieces, shape into buns, and let rise again (30–45 mins).
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes. Cool and serve.
